I’ve noticed a lot of comments directed toward Diane on her Twitter account regarding a return to SVU as Casey Novak. She keeps saying to those queries that it’s not up to her to be on the show. If as a fan of hers you think she has the power to hire herself, don’t know the way the television business works. She can only return to SVU only if there is the desire on behalf of the current showrunner and Dick Wolf to rehire her to come back and play the character. She cannot force the powers that be to hire her or to write for her character. That can only happen by the fans tweeting the showrunner and or the creator/producer of the show to ask they bring her back. So instead of directing all your comments at Diane and clogging up her Twitter account with those continuing questions, why not direct those comments at Warren Leight and Dick Wolf? It might seem more constructive to do so instead of asking her where she has no power. Only you have the power to bring Novak back either in a guest capacity or a full blown capacity a la seasons five through nine. I know this post may seem a bit snotty, but I thought it needed to be said. So what I’ve decided to do is to create a section in the sidebar where you can interact directly with Leight and Wolf to barrage them with those queries. Now one thing I should let you in on, Leight is notorious for blocking those who are negative towards his vision of the show with his pet Danny Pino as Vanilla Boy Amaro. The only other power you have as a viewer is plainly not to watch and tell Leight and Wolf you don’t like the new direction the show has gone in. I know we Christopher Meloni fans are tired of trying to tell Leight and Wolf we want Stabler back and give Chris what he deserved. So I’m just going to ask that you stop inundating Diane with those questions since she really has no power whether Novak returns. Certainly voices are being heard over at CBS where Diane is set to return to NCIS as Abigail Borin. See, they care about their fans…NBC, Leight and Wolf don’t give a crap which is why SVU‘s ratings are tanking. Just my own observation.

Finally, I have the media done for Diane’s NAVY: NCIS return. I know it took a bit of time and that another website already has offered up their screencaps and a link to the full episode, but what I have here are HQ screencaps of Diane for anyone wishing to do banners, wallpapers, icons, livejournal icons, what have you. I also have the clip with only Diane’s scenes. This is after all, a Diane Neal website. Why make you have to sit through the other parts of the episode when you’ve come here for the girl herself.
One thing I want to say before I get to the media. That is, apparently the ratings for this episode went through the roof. Ships in the Night, while good for Diane’s profile, I’m not entirely happy with the notion of her being part of what is largely, a kitch program. It has all the geeks and freaks that seem right out of central casting in it that for some reason is wanted in today’s television market. While fine for the short-term fix, not very good in terms of longevity. I think Diane’s performance is very good, in fact, I think in all honesty outside of Wes Brown who played Marine Lieutenant Patrick Nolan, the rest of the cast is largely forgettable due to the unbelievability of the characters themselves. Personally, and this is only my opinion, I’d really love to see Dick Wolf come to his senses and beg Diane to return to LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT as Casey. Why? The quality of the genre is far more believable than that of NCIS. Given Diane’s comedia timing, she’s an ace at drama. She proved that over the five years she was on as Casey how she could easily handle the work. If not a return to SVU then something on cable. Something that will allow Diane’s talent to shine and not have to give into sterotypical ‘nerdiness’ of what NCIS represents.
I won’t make you wait any longer……

Diane fans unite and don’t forget to watch Diane’s return to NAVY: NCIS tomorrow night. The eppy is called Ships In the Night and Diane plays the part of GCIS Special Agent Abigail Borin. If you notice the gif in the header, it’s a nudge to remind you that it’s on and to follow the link to DNA MEDIA: DIANE NEAL & ADAM BEACH where you’ll find Diane’s first episode Jurisdicition and the promo spot for Ships in the Night. Please don’t forget. Set your TiVos, PVRs, VCRs (if you still have one of those) or better yet, watch it live so that the ratings are noted. Perhaps Diane’s return could nudge Dick Wolf into reversing his mistake and getting Diane back to her former place of glory as our favourite ADA Casey Novak. Could make a difference.
I’ll have the clip and screencaps up hopefully later in the evening or early on the next morning. Keep checking back.
Another thing I wanted to let you know about. I obtained a whole whackload of public event images of Diane that I’m in the process of tagging to upload to the gallery. Check back for those.

I’ve created an online petition to hopefully bring Diane back to SVU as ADA Casey Novak. With the news that series co-executive producer Neal Baer is leaving NBC with a new three-year deal at CBS, I’m hoping that this might be the one and only chance in getting Diane and Casey back on the show. It might be a longshot, but here’s hoping it works. So if you’d like to see Diane back as Casey, there’s plenty of time to bring this about with the Christmas break coming and no real decisions to be made in terms of next season until at least March or April at the latest, let’s make our voices heard. We’re tired of the rotation of ADAs on the show. So if you’d like to take part, click on the graphic above and sign the petition. If you post to other boards, please feel free to pass the permalink to this post or the direct link of the petition on. We can do this for Diane.
